Welcome to button-masher.net! None of the content is really ported from kfs.net yet, but I'm starting to pass out links to some of the other pages to people (the gallery of our
new apartment, for example) and figure I might as well open things up.
Francis "Deathwish" Woodhouse deserves a huge heap o' credit for getting this here. He's worked his ass off over the months on a brand new from scratch backend for this site (and others). Huge thanks to him for putting up with my crazed demands and suggestions and still making something that rocks.
Things in my life are good overall, if a bit crazy. The Quake 4 site is up at
quake4game.com. "Up" is still a relative term, but you can view a low-res version of our E3 trailer.
Raven is moving offices this weekend (to right across the street, seen in the final picture of the previously linked photo gallery). Today was like the last day of school, right down to that summer-y but air conditioned feeling inside the building. Everyone took off early this afternoon and gets a mandatory 3-day weekend while all the equipment gets transferred over. Gaming ahoy!
We just got settled into our new place last weekend. It's pretty incredible from our last one - we had a nice place, but this location is absolutely beautiful. We're right on the fringe of Middleton, WI (eastern side of Madison). Much quieter here, too. And with 2 minutes walking (counting out the door and down the stairs) to work... well, convenience is at an all-time high.
Plus having a non-loft style apartment with vents in all rooms for this warmer-than-last-summer weather is making the air conditioner much more useful. I dig.
So back when I was in Lincoln for school and the like, I started getting really into a segment of the local music scene, best represented (in my preferences, at least) by the lineup and friends of of
Suckapunch Records. Some of these bands are no more (Fatty and the Twins), some have moved on to new things (Settle For Less --> The Killigans), but some of those have carried on over the years just as they did before.
One of those is the
JV Allstars. They just finished recording a new CD, which they have kindly made
fully available for your listening pleasure until their release shows late next month.
I can't say enough good things about these guys, both as musicians and as generally spiffy people. Go give it a listen, tell your friends, have them tell their friends, and so on and so forth.
